YDP Winter Development Camp (2016-2013)

Camp starts Monday, November 28th. For late registrations please email victoria@pcusc.org.



No tryout required, players of all abilities welcome! The program is a great way to build up skills if you are interested in joining one of our teams in the Spring. Two practices each week at Buckman, structured as a 6-week camp. There are no games associated with this program.


This program is open to players born 2013-2016 and will run Monday's and Wednesday's from 5-6pm at Buckman Field in SE Portland from November 28 - January 23*


  • Registration Deadline: November 25th (please email victoria@pcusc.org for late registrations)

  • Location: Buckman Field

  • Time: Mondays & Wednesdays from 5-6pm (see dates below).

  • Cost: $120 per player






Camp Schedule

  • Week 1 (Mon. 11/28 & Wed. 11/30) - 1v1 attacking

  • Week 2 ( Mon. 12/5 & Wed. 12/7) - 1v1 attacking

  • Week 3 (Mon. 12/12 & Wed. 12/14) - Attacking in pairs

  • Week 4 (Mon. 1/2 & Wed. 1/4) - Defending in pairs

  • Week 5 (Mon. 1/9 & Wed. 1/11) - Attacking with three

  • Week 6 (Wed. 1/18 & Mon. 1/23) - Defending with three

*There will be no camp during Winter Break (12/19 - 1/1) and MLK Day (1/16). For most weeks, sessions will be split into three parts: small sided games (1v1, 2v1, 2v2, etc.), camp games (games to engage the players in the day's topic) and age appropriate larger side games. To engage all players from the start of camp we will begin with the basics of attacking and defending and build from there, spending two sessions, or one week, on a topic before moving on to the next.


What should my player wear & bring?

  • Weather appropriate clothing (shorts, socks, top, rain jacket, hat)

  • Cleats*

  • Shinguards*

  • Ball* (player’s name/phone number written legibly in sharpie)

  • Water Bottle* (player’s name/phone number written legibly in sharpie)

*These items do not need to be purchased through Tursi Soccer, but PCU players receive a 15% discount on all additional purchases made in the Tursi store including cleats, balls and shinguards.

Club Membership Options - Youth Development Program (U8-U10)


In our Youth Development Program (YDP), players born 2013-2016 will be challenged through fun games and team interaction. This program prepares players for competitive soccer and improves recreational players' skills. Whether this is your first time with PCU or you are a returning player from the Summer/Fall season, this is a great way to continue to get players involved and engaged in soccer.


The engaging, age appropriate program focuses on the early development of individual players with an emphasis on:

  • Teamwork and Competition, introduced at a developmentally appropriate level

  • Technical Skills & Body Mechanics

  • Tactical Knowledge & Decision Making

  • Individual Growth & Communication

Summer-Fall Membership (May-November): $650 per player

  • ​​​We do not run "formal tryouts" for our Youth Development Program (YDP) teams. During our player assessments held in early-May of each year, our coaches will get to know your player's focus, listening skills and ability to participate as part of a team through fun challenges and games. In general all players, regardless of technical skills, will be offered a spot on a team. This is a great opportunity to get your child active and engaged with other player's their age!

  • Two practices each week at Buckman Field Park.

  • Summer tournaments and jamborees in June, July, & August in the Portland Metro Area: Beaverton 4v4 (June), PCU Summer Classic (July), PCU Rose City Classic (August).

  • Fall league games through OYSA on Sundays in September, October, & November in the Portland Metro Area.

Winter Development Camp (December-January): $120 per player

During the first week of practices, our coaches will get to know your player's focus, listening skills and ability to participate as part of a team through fun challenges and games. In general all players, regardless of technical skills, will be offered a spot on a team. This is a great opportunity to get your child active and engaged with other player's their age!

  • Two practices each week at Buckman Field Park.

  • Spring league games through OYSA on Sundays in February, March, & April in the Portland Metro Area.
