Tryout Registration
If your player was born 2015-2008 and you are interested in a mid-season tryout for one of our competitive teams, please email victoria@pcusc.org with your players name, full date of birth and previous playing experience. She will confirm with the age-group's Head Coach if a spot is open and if so, invite your player to attend one of the team's regular training sessions as a tryout to see if it's a good fit. There is a $45 fee to tryout with PCU. Club fees are due to accept a player's spot following a tryout, see more details below.
Due to league recruiting rules, we are only able to provide information about our club if your player is not registered with another competitive soccer club for the 2025/26 season. If you would like us to request permission from your current club's Director of Coaching to transfer to PCU, please email victoria@pcusc.org. All outstanding fees at your current club must be paid prior to release.
How will my player know if they've made a team?
After a tryout, players who are offered spots will receive the official club invitation via email from SportsConnect (to the email used to register for tryouts) within 48 hours, letting them know if they've made a team. Families have 48 hours from the time the invitation is sent to accept their spot and make their first payment (either $395 deposit with remaining balance on a 4 or 8 month payment plan, or pay-in-full), which registers them for the season.
Players are not committed on a roster until they accept their spot via the offer email and make their first payment. Players are not permitted to attend training until they have officially accepted their spot.
Coaches will be in contact with accepted players via email within a few days of their tryout with more information, including the age-group's annual calendar and TeamSnap App invitation.
*If your player is on a team's waitlist, they may receive an acceptance or decline after the 24 hour window. Coaches will work as quickly as possible to notify all players and we appreciate your patience! If you have any questions, please reach out at victoria@pcusc.org and include your players full name and birthdate.
If joining mid-season, club fees will be prorated based on date of first training. If you'd like more information, please email victoria@pcusc.org.
*4 or 8 month payment plans are available for remaining balance. Financial aid is available for qualifying families. All card payments made on SportsConnect are subject to a 3.4% credit card processing fee on their end. Check option available when paying-in-full only. See more details.
FAQ:
How much do tryouts cost?
There $45 non-refundable fee to tryout at our club.
What if my player wants to play with an older age-group?
Players may tryout to play-up an age-group, but must also tryout in their actual age-group. The player must rank in the top 11 players of the older age-group in order to be considered to be rostered that age-group. If your player intends to tryout for an age-group higher than their birth year, please email victoria@pcusc.org.
What if my player is unable to attend one or both of their tryout dates?
We will do our best to schedule an alternative tryout time. Team invites are sent within 24 hours of your player's age-group's second official tryout date. If you miss one or both of the scheduled sessions, you may receive a delayed notification.

Please reach out at victoria@pcusc.org. Please include your players first and last name and birthdate.
Can you tell me a bit about the tryout process?
Players will be evaluated by our coaching staff to assess your player's skills, decision making, physiological/psychological aspects of their play. If you have questions about the tryout process, please contact victoria@pcusc.org.
If my player is offered a spot, where will their training be?
Buckman Field is a 245,000 square foot facility with synthetic, FIFA approved turf and lights where our teams train. Our office and clubhouse are also located on the NW corner of the field and include bathrooms, a classroom for team meetings and a hangout space with foosball tables and TVs.
The first phase of our newest field development project at Portland Christian High School is also now complete! The updated facility includes a full-sized, lit turf field with stadium seating for parents. It also includes three outdoor futsal courts. Our home-base, and regular training sessions for all of our teams, will remain at Buckman. Older age groups may have an occasional, additional training at Portland Christian in preparation for a college showcase, cup or tournament.

Refund Policy
There are no refunds for tryout fees. Upon acceptance of team placement, all club fees are due and considered non-refundable. There are no refunds given or fee forgiveness except in extreme circumstances (season ending injury that happens while participating with your PCU club team only) or move outside the Portland/Metro area where travel to training and games would be impossible. These may be the only exceptions.
If you choose a payment plan during registration, all future installments will still be due if your player leaves the club at any point in the season. All club and team fees must be paid in full before a transfer to another club can be completed (pending additional approval by Head Coach and/or Director of Coaching).
What is NOT covered by Club Fees:
Tryout Fee
Required Club Uniform
Team Expenses / Tournament & Cup Fees / GA & ECNL RL Fees
PCU Winter Small-Sided 5v5 / 7v7 League, optional
Camps or Technical Training Sessions, optional
Team / Tournament Expenses
Team Expenses are separate from the Club Fee and payable directly to the player's team, collected by the Coach and/or Team Manager. Team Fees cover such things as cup/tournaments, travel and/or extra team activities. These fees are divided amongst the participating players (i.e. there is no set fee, as each team participates in different tournaments, leagues and activities).
Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available for qualifying families only. All players, including those applying for assistance, are required to pay the deposit of $395 when accepting your spot. To make this payment, please select a payment plan option, rather than pay-in-full.
When completing the registration, please check that you are requesting Financial Aid and you will be sent an invitation to apply once the deposit is paid. You will need to submit the additional application and all required documentation to be considered for assistance. Aid can cover up to 50% of players club fees, and does not include uniform, team expenses or tournament fees.
Additional application is required for camp scholarships.
Credit Card & Payment Plan Fee
All card payments made on SportsConnect are subject to a 3.4% credit card processing fee. All payment plans are required to be paid via card, and include a small additional installment fee. For those paying in full and would like to avoid the cc fee, you can drop off a check or cash in the clubhouse within 48 hours of being offered a spot on a team for the full balance owed.
If you choose a payment plan during registration, all future installments will still be due if your player leaves the club at any point in the season. If you are requesting a release of a player card to another club, your account must be paid in full prior to the transfer (pending additional approval by Head Coach and/or Director of Coaching).
If there are extenuating circumstances preventing you from making your scheduled payments, please be in touch with PCU's office ASAP. Those who are not up to date on their payment plan may be withheld from training/games until their account is settled.
Multi-Sport Athletes
PCU allows players to pursue multi-sport opportunities, futsal and high school soccer. Please communicate with your Head Coach about availability/conflicts as early as possible.

Parking: Please give yourself enough time to find a spot and walk to the field. There is only street parking available at this facility. Entrances are noted on the field map below.

Tip #2: Come Prepared
Please wear weather appropriate soccer attire, cleats and shinguards.
We ask that players do not wear PCU or other club's uniforms to tryouts.
Players should bring a ball (with players name + phone number, legible in sharpie) and a water bottle. The lost & found is located in our club-house if something is misplaced during tryouts
Tip #3: Arrive 5-10 Minutes Early to Check-In with Coach on the Field
Tip #4: Put Yourself Out There. Be Vocal, Be Positive
We encourage players during warm-ups, to introduce themselves or ask someone to pass or juggle. Communicate during the game play, tell a teammate "nice pass, good tackle," etc.
