FAQ:

How are camp groups divided?

Players are evaluated by our coaches on the first day and placed in groups based on age and ability, which guarantees the quality of training sessions. All players will have lunch and free-time together.

Where are camps held?

All camps are held at Buckman Field Complex (426 NE 12th St. Portland, OR 97232), a 245,000 square foot facility with synthetic, FIFA approved turf. Players have access to PCU's clubhouse, located on the NW corner of the field which include indoor bathrooms, a classroom and a hangout space with foosball tables to use during freetime. Campers store their belongings and lunches under canopies on the field.

Construction at Benson H.S. next door, as well as the Buckman track project are now complete (so all entrances to the complex are now open and there is plenty of street parking along 12th ave during drop-off and pick-up).

Parents are encouraged to check-in with their players in on the first day of camp. If you would like to allow your player self check-in/out for the remaining days of camp, please let our staff know and they can be released to meet you at your car.

Portland Youth Soccer Camps at Buckman Field

Do you provide early drop-off or after-care?

There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time. Alternate pick-up person can be designated during registration or check-in.

What should my player wear & bring?

  • Players should come wearing weather-appropriate soccer attire including cleats/athletic shoes, shin guards and socks. Players are welcome to bring their own ball (but recommend it's one that they don't mind sharing with other players during sessions). Sun hats and sunscreen are encouraged.
  • Lunch is not provided. Families should send players with a morning snack, water bottle (re-fill station provided) and sack lunch.
  • Please be sure to write your player's name and phone number on their ball, water bottle, lunch box and any other items they bring with them. Lost and found will be located in PCU's club-house on the NW corner of the field.
  • Ball Sizes: Age 6-8, size 3 | Age 9-11, size 4 | Age 12+, size 5. All PCU program participants receive a 15% discount on all non-uniform purchases made at Tursi Soccer including cleats, balls and shinguards.

Does my player need to play with PCU to participate?

Nope! Our camps are open to all players and we offer a variety of programs to accommodate their current age and skill level. If you have questions on which would be the best fit, please see the chart above or contact victoria@pcusc.org.

What's your refund policy?

70% refund prior to registration deadline. No refunds after registration deadline.

Do you offer financial aid or payment plans?

Yes, financial aid is available for qualifying families and applications must be submitted via email by the camp registration deadline. Financial aid can cover up to 50% of PCU's camp fees. We strive to make our programs accessible to all. If you'd like to request a payment plan to cover your player's camp fees, or the remaining balance after your financial aid is applied, please reach out to victoria@pcusc.org. We will work with your family to create a plan that works for best you.
